Valve released the CS2 Dead Hand update on March 11, 2026, adding 17 community-designed skins and 22 new gloves, the first new glove finishes since Operation Broken Fang in 2020.
The Dead Hand Collection is CS2’s second Sealed Terminal release, following the Genesis Collection. The collection’s name references the Cold War-era nuclear fail-safe system that triggered automatically without human input. That theme runs through the skins: dark, high-stakes aesthetics combined with Japanese imagery, gold detailing, and mechanical precision.
What is the Dead Hand Terminal?
The Dead Hand Terminal works differently from traditional CS2 cases. When you open a terminal, you’re shown a random item from the collection along with its price, before you decide whether to take it. You can decline the offer and get a new one, up to five times per terminal.
The terminal requires no key. You can receive it as a weekly drop by playing official game modes with Prime status, or buy it directly on the Steam Community Market or third-party marketplaces.
All 17 skins are available in StatTrak™ versions. Gloves do not have StatTrak™.
