Your Steam Trade URL is on the “Who can send me trade offers?” page, reached through Inventory and Trade Offers in Steam. Copy that link, not your profile URL: it lets other people send you offers without giving them access to your account. If non-friends need to see items they can include in an offer, your inventory must also be Public.
Account access before starting
Sign in to the Steam account that will receive the offers. Its Trade URL belongs to that account, so check which account is open before copying or sharing the link.
Choose an app or browser
You can find the link in the Steam desktop client, the Steam mobile app, or a web browser signed in to Steam Community. Use whichever is available; these are alternative routes to the same trade privacy page.
Open Trade Offers on desktop
In the Steam client, open your username menu and select Inventory. Select Trade Offers in the upper-right corner of the inventory page. Steam’s help route also starts at your account name, then goes through Inventory to Trade Offers.
If you normally use the Preferences menu, an alternative route goes through Trade → Trade Privacy → Manage My Steam Inventory Privacy Settings. You do not need to take both routes.
Open the trade privacy page
On the Trade Offers page, select “Who can send me trade offers?” in the right-side navigation. Your Trade URL is near the bottom, below the “Anyone with my Steam Trade URL” area described in the trade privacy guide.
In a signed-in browser, you can instead open Steam Community’s trade privacy page directly. The link appears in its third section.
Copy your Trade URL
Copy the entire link, including both partner and token. A sample Trade URL looks like this:
The partner value identifies the account, and the Steam-generated token is part of the link that lets non-friends send offers. Without the token, the link works only for friends. Your profile URL identifies your profile; it is not this trade-offer link.
Someone with your Trade URL can send you a trade offer, but the link does not grant account access or transfer your items. You still decide whether to accept or decline.

Find the link in the Steam mobile app
In the mobile app, tap your avatar, then go to Inventory → Trade Offers → menu icon → “Who can send me Trade Offers?” Copy the URL from the third-party websites section of that page. The mobile walkthrough describes this route; an older version starts from the left-side “You & Friends” menu instead.
If the app cannot open the page, update it or use a signed-in browser to open the trade privacy page. If the page opens but you cannot copy the link in the app, copy it in a browser instead.
Set your inventory visibility to Public
For a non-friend or marketplace to see items they can include in an offer, set Inventory visibility to Public. Go to username → Profile → Edit Profile → Privacy Settings → Inventory, choose Public and save the change. You can also reach the setting through “Inventory Privacy Settings” in the dropdown beside Trade Offers. Steam inventory settings distinguish Public from Friends Only and Private.
A Trade URL can be valid while the inventory is hidden. In that case, the recipient cannot see the items needed to assemble an offer. Making your inventory Public also makes it visible to strangers, so check offers and unsolicited messages from unknown traders carefully.
Share the Trade URL with your intended recipient
Paste your copied URL into a private chat or a marketplace’s Trade URL field when someone needs to send you an offer. A non-friend can initiate one through that link without first adding you as a Steam friend.
Sharing your URL is for receiving offers. To send an offer to someone else, use their Trade URL in New Trade Offer; they then decide whether to accept or decline it.

Review an offer before confirming it
A working link only gets you an offer. Before approving a trade:
- Check the items and amounts inside Steam, not just in a message or marketplace listing. Anyone with the link can send an offer, including a misleading one. Trade URL guidance makes this distinction.
- Complete any required Steam Guard confirmation. The Mobile Authenticator requires approval from your phone. Steam Guard may also need to have been enabled for at least 15 days before you can accept offers.
- Check for a hold rather than recopying the URL. Some account-security trade holds can last up to 15 days, and adding the Mobile Authenticator after a hold starts does not clear its timer. Market holds and market-purchase cooldowns are separate restrictions.
- Treat Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) Trade Protection separately. Eligible received items have a seven-day window in which they can be used in-game but cannot be transferred, consumed or modified. That restriction does not mean your Trade URL failed.
Reset the trade token if you need a new link
Resetting the token is optional, but it is useful if you posted your URL somewhere you did not intend. A replacement makes the old link stop working. Copy the current URL from the trade privacy page and update any messages or listings through which you still want to receive offers.
Do not confuse an expired offer with an expired Trade URL. A Steam Community trading guide says pending offers expire after two weeks; that timer applies to the offer, not to the link.
When a trade link appears to fail
- The sender cannot see your items: Check Inventory visibility. A valid URL does not make a Private or Friends Only inventory visible to a non-friend.
- A non-friend cannot use the copied link: Compare it with the
tradeoffer/new/format above and make sure the fulltokenparameter was copied. - A link worked before but no longer does: Check whether you reset the token. If so, share the current link from the trade privacy page.
- The offer arrives but cannot be accepted, or items cannot move yet: Check Steam Guard, a trade hold or, for an eligible CS2 trade, its separate Trade Protection window.
The current Trade URL is the link for receiving offers
The link on your account’s “Who can send me trade offers?” page is the Steam Trade URL to share with someone who needs to send you an offer. Non-friends can see items to include when your inventory is Public, but receiving a trade offer never approves it for you: the items and amounts remain yours to review inside Steam.
Once your Trade URL is ready and your inventory is set to Public, start trading CS2 skins on Skinvault. It’s an automated platform where you can swap skins quickly and securely without needing to add anyone as a Steam friend.
